Emergency registration of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer-BioNTech was announced on Tuesday evening by the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP).

The decision refers to Pfizer’s request to allow the health departments concerned to register the vaccine for emergency registration. After complying with international standards for the safe and successful shipping of the vaccine, import the vaccine. This follows studies confirming its safety and efficacy by the US Food and Drug Administration after clinical trials have passed.

The announcement was made by Dr. Amin Hussain Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary of Public Health Policy & Licensing, adding that:: ‘The authorisation to register the vaccine comes after all the appropriate documentation have been submitted by Pfizer in compliance with the measures and systems in place in the UAE and in accordance with international standards of protection and efficacy.’
